Your Black Friday 2024 Guide

A cozy and clean UK-style living room featuring neutral and warm tones. The room has a comfortable sofa, a coffee table with a small vase of flowers,

Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. Only a few days away and yet they're already overwhelming. Traditionally, the UK hasn't really "done" Black Friday until very recently (maybe the past 5 or 6 years ago.) Despite this, it seems the British public are more than happy to take part in a great sale. And now with Cyber Monday routinely hitting the British public right on the back of a full weekend of Black Friday offers and savings- it can be really tricky to prioritize and make the most out of the sales.

But don't worry. Here at Senelux, we've put together our very own Black Friday Survival Guide. That's right. Following on from the excitement and buzz of our sale last year, we're going even bigger this year. Deeper discounts, more salivating savings and (of course) our free UK shipping. We're going to take a quick in-and-out look at some of the newest sales that we're offering this Black Friday right the way through from fan favourites like our Virgo dehumidifier, all the way up to our latest releases.

Home Improvement & Black Friday

When it comes to Black Friday, there are noticeable patterns. When we also consider that it occurs just weeks before Christmas, we start to form a greater picture. Toys, games, technology, appliances. They all seem to knock it out of the park each year round. It seems that the vast majority of the British people see Black Friday as a launching pad for Christmas shopping. Hardly surprising really. But there is another side to Black Friday that people get enamoured with. And that of course is home improvement.

Let's be entirely honest- home improvement isn't as eye catching as things that you would traditionally associate with Christmas. No one really shows off a dehumidifier that they got from their spouse for Christmas, do they? For those who look a bit further though, right after the Christmas period comes the Spring. And Spring is the number one time in the UK to make a start on your home.

For those looking to think ahead a bit and prepare for Spring time renovations, this guide is going to be a great starting point for you this Black Friday. Join us as we take a look at all of the on-sale home electronics that either improve your home outright or facilitate a better, more comfortable home for you and your family.

Black Friday Dehumidifiers

Now we've covered dehumidifiers a lot before in the past. From the health benefits of dehumidifiers to the advantages of using a dehumidifier in the Winter. What can we say? Our dehumidifiers speak for themselves. That being said, there seems to be a pattern with dehumidifier popularity and Black Friday.

At the crux of it is that Black Friday hits right at the change over from Autumn to Winter. Fairly insignificant? Well, not really. Maybe this would be more insignificant in other countries- but here in the UK, this is a case of "question asked, question answered." You see, UK Winters aren't exactly known for snowy wonderlands or gentle frosts. Instead, when most Britons think of Winter, we have a tendency to think "damp" and "rain." Maybe it's the Britishness in us, but there's no denying that it's sort of hard wired into us. And, as you might have suspected; whenever damp and rain are in the conversation, so is the idea of a home dehumidifier.

But why is this the case? We have covered this before, but the primary purpose of a home dehumidifier is to stave off excess moisture wherever it settles. Whether this is caused by rain, condensation or damp laundry. Putting up with damp in your home- holding off on it because it doesn't seem urgent at the time- is perhaps one of the worst things that you can do. Doubly so in the Winter. Not only does damp in the home damage your health (breathing in overly moist air isn't good for you,) but having really high moisture levels in the home can cause rampant mould that actively damages and decays your home whilst also making your home much colder.

That's right, despite the fact that most dehumidifiers use fans, they can actually make your home warmer. Or, to be even more accurate- they remove the moisture in your home that makes your home colder.

All of this leads to the question of dehumidifiers and Black Friday. Why are dehumidifiers so popular around Black Friday? Why do they deserve to be?

Dehumidifiers are a great addition to your Black Friday radar because of when Black Friday takes place. Right into the Winter and then into the Spring. Hitting both a time when warmth and comfort is already difficult to achieve (during Winter) and the at a time when most people start to tackle lasting problems within their home (during Spring.) It's also pretty future-proof as Spring is also quite well known for being rainy in the UK. Either way, a dehumidifier is there for you and, when Black Friday comes around again, it's a great idea to keep your eyes peeled for the best dehumidifier sales so that you can join the growing trend of UK home dehumidifiers.

Cost Effective Heaters for Black Friday

Slightly more topical and direct this time. Heater sales aren't exactly new. The popularity of electric heaters means that it can be both frustrating (in terms of knowing where to start) as well as a bit overwhelming. But heaters are an essential part of any home. Particularly considering the costs of traditional heating options like central heating. Electric heaters are the solution to rising fuel costs and luckily they are readily available. Especially as Black Friday approaches.

What puts most people off investing in a new heater is justification. No one really wants to admit this, but it can seem a bit over-reactive to get a new heater for your home on Black Friday because- at least to most British people- "we're already half way through the cold half of the year." And in theory this makes sense. When Black Friday rolls around it can seem like a waste to only pick up a heater for three months. Even if that mentality is incredibly short-term, it is a valid perspective that a lot of Brits have.

But the key here is future-proofing. Electric heaters aren't a reaction to cold weather. Far from it. They're preventative. They don't "make your home warm," they actually keep the cold weather at bay. This is the key difference between people who pass on a new heater on Black Friday and those who invest. Future planning. Home improvement isn't a case of looking at how to react to issues as and when they crop up. It's actually a lot more about preventing things that could threaten your home or your comfort within it.

And that's why a new heater is still a great option when Black Friday comes back around. Instead of waiting to be cold and then looking into electric heaters when they are not on sale- Black Friday acts as a great excuse to get-ahead, so to speak. This isn't just something that defines the event- this is something that defines regular UK life. With the weather being more unpredictable than ever, taking efforts to future proof your home- with sales- is becoming much more vital. Especially as costs rise across the board on energy and fuel. Electronic heaters are becoming more the standard rather than an "extra" or luxury and for good reason.
